"brother brother" ©️ Stephen Wright
'I really love my brothers, but...'
I am one out of eight siblings, stuck in the middle, no. 4 from the top. In this first research period for a future work, I was given three male dancers to work with, and funnily enough I have three brothers.
Dancers: Stephen Quildan, Adam Park & Joshua Barwick

"For since a woman" ©️ Dolly Brown
Commissioned by PLINTH.
Simone Damberg Würtz worked closely together with photographer Dolly Brown in conceiving of and visualising the dance, with each artist using the other’s work as inspiration leading to an active dialogue between the dance and the photography. The work as a whole – dance and photography - explores issues of gender, time and loss and seeks to bring to light the work of female composers who have in some way been lost to canon of Western classical music.
The music moves backward in time, from most recent to oldest. In the performance in the church the final piece was danced to Quia ergo femina ("For since a woman") by Hildegard of Bingen (1098-1179), the first known female composer in the Western music tradition and from whose piece the title of the work originated.

Originally created as interactive piece, it was later evolved to a "standard" stage piece for "Resolution" 2017.
I was given a brand new music score "Game on" composed by Cheryl Frances Had and played live by Pianist Yshani Perinpanayagam.
My focus was to interpreted, reflect and mirror the music. I found inspiration from the way the music was composed, and what had influenced the process.

"Perilous" (original titel ˈ/breɪv(ə)ri/)
After witnessing an act of apparent fearlessness and courage, I was inspired to explore the concept of bravery through images and choreography. I conducted a series of interviews surrounding the topic of courage and used elements of each interview to inform the creative process.
Whilst doing this research I was confronted with the polarity of courage and realised that you can't be brave without the presence of fear.
Dancers: Hannah Rudd, Edit Domozlai, Antonia Hewitt, Liam Francis & Joshua Barwick.
Dedicated to Blyde

"RIFT"©️ Tony Nandi
'Every man is guilty of all the good he did not do'. Voltaire
RIFT was inspired by an old advert from Denmark that illustrated the fatal consequences of not wearing a seatbelt hilst driving. The dancers explore the unshakeable sense of guilt a death can have on the conscience, creating rifts in body, soul, time and place. "RIFT" has a solo version called "CLEFT" performed by dancer Rob Bridger.
