Simone is a London based Dancer, Choreographer & founder of The Playground at Rambert.
Originally from Engesvang, Denmark. She trained at the Royal Danish Ballet School and joined her first Company Peter Schaufuss Balletten at 16. In 2009 she left her home country to join the Ballet ensemble of Theater Ulm in Germany as a Soloist. Four years later London came calling, and Simone started working for Rambert, Britain's oldest Dance Company. |
Whilst at Peter Schaufuss Balletten, Simone performed in all the repertoire, creating the lead role of Peter Pan in 'Michael, I’m Bad'. At Theater Ulm she danced the lead in Cinderella, Tybalta in Romeo and Juliet, and the Sacrificial Dance in Le Sacre du Printemps. Since joining Rambert, Simone has performed in a broad repertoire.
She particularly enjoyed working with Kim Brandstrup, Didy Veldman, Christopher Bruce, Marion Motin, Imre & Marne Van Opstal, Jo Strømgren and Wim Vandekeybus. Simone was awarded the National Dance Award "Best Female Dancer" in 2020, she was the first Contemporary female dancer to ever win the award. |
Simone enjoys choreographing and her Choreographic work has been performed at various venues including the Linbury Studio Theatre, The Place, The National Theatre's Riverstage, Wilderness Festival, Rambert, Baltic Art Form Festival, St Hilda's College in Oxford and St. John's on Bethnal Green in the UK. In Germany her work has been presented at the Wilhelmsburg in Ulm, Wiblingen Klosterhof, Theater Ulm & Internationales Solo-Tanz-Theater Festival, Stuttgart.
Most recently Simone co-choreographed two music videos for Philip Selway's new album "Strange Dance" togehter with Choreographer Liam Francis. |
